Everything you need to know about finding care and listing your practice.
For pet owners
Enter your ZIP code on the home page and choose the type of care you need (general practice, 24-hour emergency, or specialty). Vetmodo searches verified clinics within 50 miles and lets you filter by services and specialties using tags.
Vetmodo currently focuses on California. We are expanding to additional states.
No. Searching the directory is free and does not require an account. Accounts are only needed if you are a clinic owner who wants to claim and manage a listing.
Searching the directory is free for pet owners. Clinic owners can list for free under the Basic tier; paid tiers (Pro and Premier) unlock enhanced features.
Call a 24-hour emergency veterinary clinic immediately. Use the search filter set to '24-Hour Emergency' or click the red 'Find Emergency Care' button on the home page to see emergency clinics ordered by distance. Vetmodo is a directory and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice.
Vetmodo researches every listing from public sources, first and foremost each clinic's own website, and locations are verified with public mapping and geocoding data. Clinics that have claimed their listings are marked with a verified badge. We show the latest information available, but you should always confirm hours, services, and credentials directly with the clinic before visiting.
By default, results are ordered by distance from your ZIP code. Premier and Pro subscribers appear in a 'Featured Listings' section above the main results. Vetmodo does not rank clinics by star ratings.
Not yet. Vetmodo doesn't display star ratings or reviews — we focus on verified, factual information like services, specialties, hours, and credentials. We may add native reviews in the future.
Visit our Resources section for articles on emergency care, preventive care, nutrition, behavior, and more.
See our Privacy Policy for details on what we collect, how we use it, and the third-party services we rely on (Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payments, AWS S3 for photo storage).

Basic (Free): standard listing, hours, up to 3 photos. Pro ($99/mo): enhanced listing with analytics, priority placement, unlimited photos, verified badge. Vetmodo reviews edits to claimed clinic listings before they go live, to keep the directory accurate and trustworthy. Most edits are reviewed within a business day. You can see the status of pending edits on your dashboard.
Tags are how pet owners filter the directory — things like "Low Cost," "Fear Free," "Cardiology," or "Spay & Neuter." You can toggle which services and specialties apply to your clinic from the dashboard. The more accurate your tags, the more often pet owners searching for those services will find you.
Yes. All paid plans are month-to-month with no long-term contract. You can cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate refunds.
We build baseline listings from public, authoritative sources — the California Veterinary Medical Board's public license roster plus public mapping and geocoding data. Imported listings start without an owner and carry only public information. Owners can claim a listing and fill in details that public sources do not provide — like services, specialties, and high-quality photos.
